Biography
Gillian began her career in journalism by securing a place on the BBC’s prestigious News Trainee Scheme in the South West of England. She went on to work there as a radio and TV journalist, presenting the news for BBC One’s Spotlight program and reporting live on major events such as the fuel strikes of 2000 and the 2001 foot-and-mouth outbreak. Gillian became a presenter on BBC One’s Reporting Scotland and a correspondent for Newsnight Scotland covering many topics but notably, several general elections and the financial crisis of 2008. She has interviewed leading politicians, opinion leaders and national icons ranging from Nicola Sturgeon to William Hague and comedian Billy Connolly. Now living between Switzerland and the UK covering a range of European issues.
